Formed in Stockholm in the spring of 2021, Washing Machina are rapidly emerging as a compelling voice in international alternative rock. Their sound fuses infectious pop sensibilities with adventurous, avant-garde guitar textures—forging a distinct identity rooted in the noise-rock legacy of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, and Pavement, while carrying the urgency and visceral energy of contemporary acts like Fontaines D.C., Idles, Sleater-Kinney, and Wet Leg. Hook-forward and immediate, their songs leave room for the unexpected: sharp turns, noisy details, and bright melodies pushed through a restless alt-rock lens.

Following the critical acclaim of their early EPs (Perfect Misfits and Last Bag on the Belt) and their debut album The Spontaneous Splendid (Lövely Records, 2024), the band entered their most exciting chapter yet with the release of their sophomore album, Before My Mind Wakes Up, released June 10, 2026 on Epicuro Records.

Where their debut explored the disorienting fog of modern life, Before My Mind Wakes Up goes further inward—pushing the noise further, the melodies deeper, and tackling the quiet devastations and self-destructive patterns people carry without ever quite naming them. The album rollout made immediate waves, with lead single “Debbie Lost Her Mind” picked up by John Kennedy on Radio X (X-Posure) in the UK.

Renowned for their electrifying, high-energy live performances, Washing Machina have shared stages with acts like Bdrmm and performed at festivals including Fools Gold.
