About

Washing Machina, the dynamic band hailing from Stockholm, emerged in the spring of 2021 and has been turning heads with their unique sound ever since. The creative synergy was sparked when Mark, Karl, and Sara started to exchange their musical concepts, and the addition of Emelie on drums solidified their distinctive sound. Drawing inspiration from influential bands like Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth, The Breeders, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement, and Dinosaur Jr., Washing Machina skillfully blends catchy pop melodies with avant-garde guitar work to craft their unique sonic identity.

Their debut EP, “Perfect Misfits,” serves as a testament to their musical prowess, encapsulating their essence across five tracks. As per The Other Side Reviews, “Washing Machina infuses their indie rock with a dash of everything we adore about classic rock, creating a sound that is uniquely their own.” Less Than 1000 Followers lauds the EP, stating, “With catchy guitar riffs, diverse grooves, and elegant vocals, the songs instantly captivate the listener.” Pop Fad Blog portrays the EP as “a monumental work, vast in its qualities as if its mass is infinite. Following the success of their two EPs, ‘Perfect Misfits’ and ‘Last Bag on the Belt,’ Washing Machina released their debut album “The Spontaneous Splendid” through Lövely Records on the 1st of March. The album is a testament to the band’s evolving artistry and innovative spirit. Press reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, with distortedsoundmag.com noting, “The combination of rock and pop melodies is beautiful, almost ethereal, and we can already see them becoming a staple within the rock community that will inspire future artists.” Illustrate Magazine praises the album, saying, “For a debut album, The Spontaneous Splendid does its job very well in representing what Washing Machina is about, with sweet and syrupy guitar melodies and high-spirited vocals that get you feeling carefree.” Mystic Sons adds, “‘The Spontaneous Splendid’ sets itself as a beautifully warm and endearing listen, with a rich and tantalizing approach to songwriting and production that proves Washing Machina are still very much on top of their creative game.”
